30 Days of Mercy: LarryBash’s Daily Iftar Brings Relief and Unity to Ota Awori Land

In a season defined by reflection, sacrifice, and compassion, High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, fondly known as LarryBash, has transformed the holy month of Ramadan into a powerful symbol of unity, generosity, and grassroots connection across Ota Awori Land.
For thirty consecutive days, his residence in Ota has become more than a venue—it has evolved into a sanctuary of hope, where hundreds gather daily to break their fast. Young and old, men and women, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and ordinary citizens sit side by side, sharing meals and moments that transcend status, religion, and political affiliation.
What began as a simple act of giving has grown into a movement—one that feeds not only the body but also restores faith in community, leadership, and shared humanity.

Each evening, the atmosphere is rich with warmth, gratitude, and reflection. Beyond the distribution of food and cash gifts to residents, children, and vulnerable groups, LarryBash has institutionalized a three-tier engagement—support for children, daily feeding for the general public, and strategic hosting of key stakeholders across the constituency.
For many struggling families, the initiative has provided relief in difficult economic times. For others, it has created a rare platform for dialogue, inclusion, and unity in a society often divided by politics and circumstance.

The 2026 Iftar gatherings have drawn an extraordinary cross-section of Ota/Awori society.
From the political class to grassroots mobilizers, from traditional institutions to youth and student leaders, LarryBash’s table has become the meeting point of influence and aspiration.
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, including party executives across all 16 wards, openly commended LarryBash’s humility, vision, and dedication. The APC Chairman, Hon. J.J. Akeran, described him as a man whose leadership capacity and grassroots connection make him fit for transformative representation.
The women and youth leaders echoed similar sentiments, praising his sincerity, empowerment-driven approach, and unwavering commitment to community development.

In a powerful show of endorsement, traditional rulers and Baales across Ota/Awori land, alongside Community Development Associations (ACDCs), declared their full support for LarryBash’s aspiration.
They affirmed that no one understands the challenges of the people better than him, emphasizing his long-standing involvement in community affairs and his unique ability to connect with grassroots realities.
With the backing of the revered Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, the traditional leaders described LarryBash as a compassionate figure who not only understands their struggles but actively works to address them.

The momentum gained further strength with the endorsement of Hon. Muhideen Ajibabi and his Independent Campaign Group (ICG), who declared their unwavering commitment to LarryBash’s emergence as the APC flagbearer for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
According to the group, his candidacy represents a new dawn—one that will rebrand governance and deliver people-centered representation.
Similarly, APC ward chairmen, executives, and stakeholders reaffirmed their loyalty, stating clearly that despite multiple aspirants, their support remains firmly with LarryBash.

In what many describe as a defining moment, the LarryBash Think Tank—an intellectual and strategic powerhouse led by Hon. Monsuru Oloyede—publicly unveiled its support during one of the Iftar gatherings.
Comprising former political office holders, party leaders, and influential figures, the group described the LarryBash movement as a divine project aimed at liberating the constituency from ineffective leadership.
Their endorsement further solidified the perception of LarryBash as not just a grassroots mobilizer, but a leader with strong institutional backing and strategic depth.

Recognizing the critical role of young people, LarryBash hosted leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the Federation of Awori Student Union (FASU), alongside other youth stakeholders.
The gathering became a platform for meaningful dialogue, where youth leaders highlighted their needs and commended LarryBash’s consistent support for education, empowerment, and youth development.
From scholarships to career support initiatives, his track record has positioned him as a leader invested in the future.

Beyond politics, the Iftar gatherings brought together socio-cultural groups such as the Arugbo Crew, G-14 Sisters, Iganmode Afeleja Foundation, and Abegi Fan-Milk Base, reinforcing the spirit of unity and shared identity.
These groups, alongside farmers’ associations, community leaders, and advocacy platforms, described the initiative as a reflection of true leadership—one that unites, uplifts, and inspires.
Even the “LarryBash Champions,” a widespread support network across all wards, reaffirmed their commitment to mobilization and grassroots engagement.

One of the most touching moments came with the hosting of the Dabiohun political family, where emotional tributes flowed in honour of the late Alhaji Mukadaz Akinde (Dabiohun).
Leaders of the group praised LarryBash for sustaining the legacy of their late leader, describing him as a worthy figure capable of filling the void left behind. In his response, LarryBash humbly acknowledged the magnitude of that legacy, pledging to preserve its values of selflessness and community service.

Observers across Ogun West now see the “30 Days of Mercy” initiative as more than a seasonal act of charity. It is a living example of a leadership philosophy rooted in empathy, accessibility, and genuine service.
LarryBash’s approach challenges conventional politics—replacing distance with closeness, promises with action, and ambition with compassion.
By opening his doors daily, he has not only fed the people but listened to them, building a bond of trust that many believe is rare in today’s political landscape.

As the holy month draws to a close, the impact of these thirty days will continue to resonate across Ota Awori Land.
The meals shared, the voices heard, the endorsements declared, and the unity forged have collectively set a new standard for community engagement and political leadership.
In the end, “30 Days of Mercy” is not just a title—it is a lived experience.
It is the story of a leader who chose service over spectacle, a people who found hope in togetherness, and a movement steadily shaping the future of Ado-Odo/Ota.
And long after the crescent fades, the echoes of compassion, unity, and purpose will remain.
