FUTA Don, Professor Adedayo Ademiluyi Elected Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has recorded yet another outstanding achievement as one of its eminent scholars, Prof. Adedayo Oluwaseun Ademiluyi of the Department of Biochemistry, has been elected a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (FAAS).

Prof. Ademiluyi conveyed the development to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, FAS, in a letter dated December 2, 2025, announcing his election after a rigorous multi-level review and endorsement process conducted by the AAS Membership Advisory Committees, Fellows of the Academy, and the AAS Governing Council.

The official announcement of the 2025 Fellows was made during the Science Forum South Africa (SFSA), held virtually in Pretoria on November 24, 2025.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, Prof. Ademiluyi described the fellowship as a significant continental recognition of scientific excellence. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing FUTA’s research profile and strengthening the global visibility of the University.
“I am honored to receive this continental recognition of scientific excellence, and I remain committed to advancing the research profile and global visibility of the University through this new responsibility,” he stated.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, FAS, conveyed her congratulations through internal remarks on the letter, applauding Prof. Ademiluyi for bringing further prestige to the University.
