A HISTORIC COALITION HAS SPRUNG UP IN OTA, OGUN STATE, AHEAD OF THE 2027 ELECTION.

The people of Ota-Awori Kingdom are speaking in unprecedented numbers, tone and unity of purpose ahead of 2027.
The traditional youth chiefs of Ota Awori land and the youth statutory heads of the Ota community, in a symbolic coalition at least for the first time in history, spoke in one voice in their call and demand for the seat of the Federal House of Representatives to move to the Ota state constituency in 2027.
The coalition said the Ota state constituency is not in shortage of a credible candidate for the position, and they unanimously showed the example of High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, the Seriki of the Otta Kingdom, as a choice that would give his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), an unprecedented number of electoral votes if he became the candidate.
The coalition listed a number of qualities, attributes and considerations that made LARRYBASH, as he is popularly called, the best fit for the seat in 2027.
The coalition in their thousands went before national and international press at the iconic Ijamido Town Hall on Thursday, 8th January 2026, to press home their demand and from there moved to the palace of the Olota to formally present the communique.
The coalition of traditional and statutory youth heads was not alone. In their thousands were their members, who in a jubilant mood made the exercise even more authoritative.
The coalition group made one thing clearer. “We ought to be non-partisan.” “We are aware.” But unfortunately, “politicians have used this rhetoric of non-partisan status to worsen our situation unchecked.” Hence, the coalition said, “The blurred line between ‘non-partisan’ and ‘community development’ needs to be broken for the future of their community.” Simple.
The Ota state constituency is ready in 2027, and the coalition people have spoken in a strong and unequivocal voice, which without any doubt has been heard by the distinguished people concerned.
Coalition is not anymore a phenomenon of national politics. In fact, the youth and people of Ota have demonstrated and presented an example of how a non-political coalition can facilitate transformational development.
