In a profound demonstration of spiritual leadership, cultural heritage and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his people, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Musiliudeen Ademola Ashorota, AICMC, the Onitele of Itele Awori Land, once again convened the highly revered Annual Royal Prayer Session to usher his kingdom into a season of good tidings, peace and enduring prosperity.

The solemn yet uplifting spiritual gathering, held within the ancient precincts of the royal palace in Itele, brought together traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, Christian leaders, community elders, youth representatives, women groups, political leaders and sons and daughters of Itele Awori Land from far and near. The convergence reflected the unity and collective faith of a people bound by shared values and a common destiny.

From the early hours of the day, the palace arena resonated with prayers, supplications and words of hope as spiritual leaders from different faiths offered intercessions for the monarch, the land and its people. The prayers focused on peace, security, good governance, economic advancement, communal harmony and divine guidance for all leaders within Awori Land and Ogun State at large.

In his royal address, Oba (Dr.) Musiliudeen Ademola Ashorota emphasized the importance of prayer as the bedrock of leadership and development. He noted that beyond physical planning and governance, spiritual alignment remains essential for sustainable growth and stability in any society.

“A kingdom that prays together remains strong and united. This annual prayer is not just a tradition; it is a covenant of faith between the throne and the people, seeking divine direction for our land,” the revered monarch stated.

The Onitele reaffirmed his commitment to leading with fear of God, fairness and inclusiveness, stressing that his reign continues to prioritize peace, youth empowerment, cultural preservation and grassroots development. He expressed deep gratitude to Almighty God for the progress recorded in Itele Awori Land and prayed for greater achievements in the years ahead.

Islamic scholars present offered special dua for the monarch, praying for long life, wisdom and strength, while Christian clerics equally rendered powerful prayers for unity, moral revival and divine protection over the community. Traditional rites were also respectfully observed, blending spirituality with age-long Awori customs that have sustained the land through generations.

Dignitaries who attended the event commended the Onitele for his exemplary leadership and foresight in institutionalizing the annual prayer gathering. Many described the monarch as a bridge-builder whose reign has fostered peaceful coexistence among diverse religious and social groups within Itele and its environs.

Community leaders noted that under the leadership of Oba Ashorota, Itele Awori Land has witnessed relative peace, increased communal engagement and renewed respect for traditional institutions. Youth leaders and women groups also expressed appreciation for the monarch’s continuous encouragement of unity, moral values and community participation.

As the prayers drew to a close, the atmosphere was filled with renewed hope and confidence in a prosperous future. Songs of praise and thanksgiving echoed across the palace grounds, symbolizing the collective resolve of the people to walk together in faith, peace and progress.

The annual royal prayer, now firmly established as a spiritual compass for Itele Awori Land, stands as yet another testament to the visionary leadership of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Musiliudeen Ademola Ashorota, a monarch whose reign continues to blend tradition, spirituality and purposeful governance in the service of his people.

Indeed, as Itele ushers in a new season under divine guidance, the message remains clear: with prayer, unity and inspired leadership, the kingdom is poised for greater glory.

HBO’s Spectacular New Year Bash Lights Up Owode Yewa

Hon. Babatunde Olaotan (HBO), Ogun State’s Special Adviser on Government House Affairs, alongside his wife, Chief Mrs. Adebisi Olaotan (Olori Olaotan), ushered in 2026 in grand style with a colourful New Year celebration that seamlessly blended faith, unity, and vibrant political engagement.

The high-profile event, held on Sunday, January 11, at the expansive HBO Compound in Olokuta, Owode Yewa, attracted an array of distinguished guests from across Ogun State. In attendance were political leaders, party chieftains, ward executives, organised groups, government officials, members of CAUCUS 7202 directorates, commissioners, lawmakers, religious leaders, and respected community influencers, all converging for an evening of purpose and celebration.

Proceedings began on a solemn and uplifting note with a Christian thanksgiving service led by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Yewa South Chapter. Through songs of praise, worship, and fervent prayers, participants committed the New Year into God’s hands, seeking divine guidance, protection, and blessings for Nigeria, Ogun State, Ogun West, and their leaders.

In a show of inclusiveness and interfaith harmony, Islamic clerics from Yewa South and beyond followed with special prayers, invoking peace, progress, and prosperity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adéọlá (YAYI), and the entire Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun West Senatorial District, Ogun State, and the nation at large.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Olaotan delivered a rousing call to action, urging party faithful and supporters to take full advantage of the ongoing PVC registration exercise—by completing e-registrations, replacing lost cards, and transferring to preferred polling units. He highlighted notable developmental strides under the APC-led administration, including improved road networks in Owode, enhanced educational facilities, revitalised markets, modern town halls, and upgraded maternity centres.

He challenged the people of Ogun West to demonstrate their commitment at the polls, noting that sustained loyalty and massive voter turnout are key to securing greater political relevance. “The time for Yewa/Awori is now,” he declared, stressing that the moment demands dedication, mobilisation, and votes that truly count.

Beyond celebration, the gathering served as a strategic platform for strengthening grassroots unity, renewing commitment to progressive governance, and laying the groundwork for future political victories. Support groups from across Ogun West and beyond reaffirmed their loyalty, as conversations, networking, and shared aspirations filled the atmosphere.

The hosts personally moved among guests, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming show of solidarity. Guests were treated to an abundance of sumptuous food and drinks, impeccably served, before the night climaxed with electrifying performances by contemporary music stars. Amid music, laughter, and dance, friends, family, and political allies came together, closing the night in an atmosphere of joy, harmony, and renewed hope for the year ahead.
