The ancient town of Ijoga Orile came alive in a grand display of culture, unity, and progress as indigenes and well-wishers converged to celebrate the much-anticipated Obalaju Day 2025 — a festival that continues to strengthen the community’s cultural identity and developmental aspirations.
The annual celebration, held under the auspices of the Oba of Ijoga Orile, was marked by colourful traditional displays, cultural performances, and heartfelt tributes to the resilience and unity of the Ijoga people. The event not only served as a cultural renaissance but also as a rallying point for community development and youth empowerment.
A major highlight of the 2025 edition was the generous support and active participation of the FAM Foundation, a reputable philanthropic body known for its commitment to grassroots development and human empowerment. The foundation’s contribution to the success of this year’s celebration reaffirmed its dedication to preserving cultural heritage while promoting social progress.
In his goodwill message, representatives of the FAM Foundation commended the people of Ijoga Orile for sustaining the Obalaju Day tradition, describing it as a symbol of unity, peace, and shared progress. The Foundation further pledged continued support for education, youth training, and community-based initiatives within the town and its environs.
Equally remarkable was the unwavering support from Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, whose developmental strides across Ogun State continue to inspire hope and transformation. Senator Adeola’s contribution towards the 2025 Obalaju Day added a new dimension of prestige and encouragement to the celebration.
His donation and presence—directly or through his representatives—demonstrated his enduring commitment to the growth of Ijoga Orile and his broader vision for the socio-economic advancement of the Yewa people. Many community leaders praised Senator Adeola for his consistent efforts in promoting rural development, educational opportunities, and infrastructural renewal across Ogun West.
Speaking at the event, community leaders expressed profound appreciation to Senator Adeola and the FAM Foundation for their unwavering partnership and enduring belief in the vision of a united and prosperous Ijoga Orile.
As drums echoed and cultural dancers thrilled the audience, Obalaju Day 2025 stood as a vibrant testimony to the power of collaboration — where tradition meets transformation, and culture becomes a catalyst for development.
With the collective efforts of visionary leaders, organizations, and the resilient spirit of the Ijoga people, the future indeed looks bright for this historic town
