The story was that at a time, he was called to the Flying Eagles but he rejected the offer telling the coach that he had passed the age limit for call-up. The angry coach promised to ensure that he would never play for the national team.
But as fate would have it, the coach later went for a course abroad and that created an opportunity for him. He was called up to play for the Super Eagles earning a total of 5 caps (4 FIFA-recognized and 1 non-FIFA) with no goals scored.
Born on October 9, 1967, in Ibadan, he is credited with playing professionally in England, Belgium and Canada.
