Ogun at 50 is more than a celebration of years; it is the celebration of a people, a spirit, and a promise that has refused to fade. For me, Ogun State is not just a place on the map—it is home, memory, struggle, and hope woven together.
I was shaped by the soil of Ogun. By its early mornings where the sun rises with quiet determination, and by evenings where stories travel faster than the breeze. Ogun taught me resilience early—the kind that does not shout but endures. From our towns and villages to our bustling corridors of trade and learning, Ogun has always spoken one clear language: progress must be earned, and dignity must be preserved.
At 50, Ogun is rightly called the Gateway State—not only because of geography, but because of mindset. It is a gateway of ideas, enterprise, education, and industry. From artisans to academics, farmers to factory workers, Ogun people are builders. We build with our hands, with our minds, and with our courage. I have watched Ogun grow through seasons of promise and periods of patience, and through it all, the people never stopped believing.
My Ogun story is also a story of community. Here, success is sweeter when shared, and leadership is measured by service. I learned that voice matters—that speaking up for fairness, equity, and justice is not noise, but duty. Ogun raised me to understand that development must carry everyone along, and that no zone, no town, no people should be forgotten in the journey of progress.
Fifty years on, Ogun stands at a powerful crossroads. The foundations have been laid; the future now demands balance, inclusion, and bold thinking. As a son of this land, my hope is simple but firm: that Ogun’s next chapter will deepen unity, reward merit, and open doors wider for the next generation than they were for mine.
I am proud of Ogun’s past. I am committed to Ogun’s present. And I am invested in Ogun’s future.
At 50, Ogun is not old—it is seasoned. Not tired—but ready.
And my story, like that of millions of others, continues to rise with it.
