Twenty members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, citing what they described as significant economic reforms and infrastructural progress under his administration.
The lawmakers, who identified themselves as progressive members of the Assembly, said their stance aligns with the earlier endorsement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State. According to them, President Tinubu’s leadership has set Nigeria on a path of economic stabilization and sustainable national development.
The position was made public during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Yusuf Sherif Abiodun, who represents Ado-Odo/Ota Constituency I, highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration. He pointed to ongoing fiscal reforms and extensive road construction projects linking major economic corridors across the country as clear indicators of the President’s commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s economy.

Beyond their endorsement of President Tinubu, the lawmakers also threw their weight behind the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. They described him as a seasoned legislator with a proven track record of competence, diligence, and commitment to public service.
They commended Senator Adeola’s contributions at the National Assembly, noting his leadership in key committees, advocacy for developmental projects, and empowerment initiatives that have positively impacted communities across Ogun State and beyond.
According to the lawmakers, his wealth of legislative and administrative experience positions him as a strong candidate capable of advancing Ogun State’s development agenda.
The group also acknowledged the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, stating that his executive experience and deep understanding of governance remain valuable assets to the state. They noted that his administration has recorded notable developmental strides.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC, the lawmakers pledged continued support for leaders whose vision and track record align with the aspirations of the people of Ogun State and Nigeria.
