Oba Shekoni, Osolo of Isolo, Pays Historic Home-Coming Visit to Olota

His Royal Majesty, Oba Abiodun Olakunle Faronbi Shekoni, the newly installed Osolo of Isolo, Lagos State, today paid a momentous visit to the ancient city of Otta on Friday, 8th August 2025.

Kabiyesi Osolo revealed that his first official outing after his coronation commenced in Otta, in honour of his deep ancestral ties with the ancient and paramount Ottaland. In his remarks, Kabiyesi Osolo lauded the people of Isolo for the wisdom in selecting him as their monarch, describing the decision as not only timely but also a vital step towards strengthening unity and advancing development across Aworiland. He pledged to invest in sustaining the bond between Isolo and Otta, and other Awori settlements, proudly affirming that Otta is his home and that the visit could best be described in the Awori spirit as “Omowale”.

Responding, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Olota of the Ancient and Paramount Ottaland, congratulated the Osolo on his ascension and assured him of the unflinching support and goodwill of the people of Ottaland. Kabiyesi Olota fondly recalled his formative years and experiences in Isolo, noting that “Isolo” played a defining role in shaping his life’s journey. His Majesty emphasised that his story would be incomplete without recognising the influence of the ancient Isolo community, reaffirming that the bond between the two kingdoms will be nurtured towards achieving all-round success and development.

Kabiyesi Osolo rounded off his historic visit by paying homage to Isoloshi, where he was warmly received at the sacred point of Igbodogi and Ile Ore.
