The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), Yewa/Awori Axis, on February 25, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to HRM Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas. The delegation, led by Mrs. Jokotola Hammond, formally extended an invitation to the Paramount Ruler to grace their Biennial State Congress, scheduled for December 2025 and to be hosted in Yewaland. They expressed confidence that his esteemed presence would add prestige and significance to the event.
In his response, His Royal Majesty expressed delight at the visit, noting that this was his first-ever meeting with ANCOPPS since ascending the throne over 12 years ago. He commended the current executive and members for changing the narrative by fostering engagement between the Paramountcy and the secondary education sector in Yewaland.
As part of his continuous support for academic excellence, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle earlier today graced the 6th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa. The event marked another milestone in the institution’s history, particularly with the successful graduation of 9,320 students. The convocation ceremony, with Prof. Rahamon Bello as its Guest Lecturer, was attended by Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State; H.E. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State; HRM Oba (Prof.) Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota, among other distinguished royal fathers and guests.
Rounding off his engagements, the Paramount Ruler was a distinguished guest at the 20th Coronation Anniversary of the Onidogo of Idogo-Yewa, Oba Saheed Olubiyi. The grand occasion was attended by dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, and distinguished sons and daughters of Yewaland.
Oba Olugbenle extends his congratulations to Oba Saheed Olubiyi for two decades of remarkable leadership and service to his people. He also commends Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, the Rector of OGITECH, for the institution’s significant progress and its role in advancing technical education in the state. Furthermore, Kabiesi extends warm congratulations to H.E. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, Dr. Bosun Tijani and Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun on their conferment of the prestigious Fellowship of OGITECH in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education, leadership, and societal development.
