Olota’s Developmental Vision Continues to Shape Ota .

ACP Olusola Oladele Praised for Transforming Policing in Ota Area Command.

Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire was praised

The ancient town of Ota came alive with celebration, pride, and renewed optimism on Thursday, May 7, 2026, as dignitaries, security chiefs, traditional rulers, political leaders, and residents gathered at Iganmode Road, Ita Court, for the official commissioning of the newly completed Otta Central Police Divisional Headquarters — a landmark project widely regarded as a major turning point in the security and developmental advancement of the town.
The modern police facility, strategically located within the heart of the rapidly expanding industrial community, was facilitated through the influence and commitment of His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Olota of the Ancient and Paramount Ottaland, Awori Kingdom, while funding and execution were undertaken by the Presidency through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), headed by Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
The commissioning ceremony represented far more than the unveiling of a new structure. For residents and stakeholders, it symbolized years of advocacy, visionary leadership, strategic engagement, and collective determination to strengthen security infrastructure in one of Nigeria’s busiest commercial and industrial corridors.
The event also spotlighted the growing synergy between traditional institutions, government agencies, and security authorities in addressing grassroots challenges and promoting sustainable development.

For many residents, the project stands as another major achievement under the reign of the Olota, whose leadership has increasingly become synonymous with peacebuilding, infrastructural growth, institutional collaboration, and socio-economic development across Aworiland.
Historical records, archival publications, and social media reports over the years have consistently highlighted Professor Obalanlege’s developmental approach since ascending the throne. Before becoming the Olota, the monarch distinguished himself in academia and public administration as a respected scholar and former Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
His reign has since witnessed sustained advocacy for community development, youth empowerment, educational advancement, cultural preservation, and stronger government presence in Ota and surrounding communities.
Community stakeholders noted that the newly commissioned divisional headquarters is another direct product of the monarch’s relentless pursuit of initiatives capable of improving the welfare and safety of the people.
ACP Olusola Oladele Praised for Transforming Policing in Ota Area Command
A major highlight of discussions during the commissioning was the widespread commendation of ACP Olusola Oladele, the Area Commander of the zone, whose leadership style and proactive policing strategy have continued to earn admiration across the community.
Residents, youth leaders, market associations, and community stakeholders described ACP Oladele as a dynamic and highly professional police officer whose tenure has brought renewed confidence to policing within the Ota Area Command.
Many credited her with strengthening community-police relationships, improving response to security concerns, enhancing operational coordination, and promoting a more people-friendly policing approach that has helped improve public trust in law enforcement agencies.
Across Ota and neighboring communities, residents openly expressed appreciation for her accessibility, professionalism, discipline, and commitment to maintaining peace within the axis. Some stakeholders noted that her leadership has contributed significantly to the relative stability currently being enjoyed across several communities under the Area Command.
Community leaders at the event described her as “a people-oriented officer” whose dedication to duty and collaborative approach to security matters have made her widely respected and loved by residents.
Security observers also pointed out that the commissioning of the new divisional headquarters would further strengthen the ongoing security reforms and operational improvements being championed under her leadership.

Ota occupies a unique position within Ogun State as one of the fastest-growing urban and industrial centers in the country. The town hosts numerous industries, manufacturing companies, educational institutions, markets, and business clusters that contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economy.
Its strategic closeness to Lagos has further transformed the town into a major commercial and residential destination for investors, entrepreneurs, and workers.
However, rapid urbanization and increasing population growth have also intensified demands for stronger security infrastructure, effective policing, and improved law enforcement presence.
For years, residents and stakeholders had called for upgraded policing facilities capable of matching the growing importance of the town. The newly commissioned divisional headquarters is therefore being viewed as a timely intervention aimed at improving security operations and addressing emerging security challenges within the axis.
Security experts present at the commissioning stressed that modern policing infrastructure remains critical to crime prevention, intelligence gathering, emergency response, and the protection of lives and property within densely populated commercial environments.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the new divisional headquarters would significantly enhance police operations in Ota and neighboring communities by providing officers with a more conducive and functional operational environment.
The facility is expected to improve surveillance, strengthen police visibility, support intelligence-driven policing, and deepen collaboration between law enforcement agencies and members of the public.
Community leaders who spoke during the event noted that improved security infrastructure would not only enhance public safety but also strengthen investor confidence and contribute to economic stability within the area.
Residents also described the project as a morale booster for security personnel serving in the command, expressing confidence that better working conditions would translate into more efficient service delivery.
Federal Government and SDGs Office Receive Commendation
Special commendation was equally extended to the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals for facilitating the project through its people-centered intervention programs.
Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire was praised for her office’s continued commitment to supporting impactful projects aimed at improving public welfare, security infrastructure, healthcare, and sustainable development across communities nationwide.
Observers described the collaboration between the Federal Government, the traditional institution, and security authorities as a model capable of accelerating grassroots development and strengthening public confidence in governance.

The atmosphere surrounding the commissioning reflected more than official ceremony; it carried a deep sense of pride and renewed hope among indigenes and residents who believe Ota is entering another era of accelerated transformation and improved security.
Across social media platforms and community discussions, residents celebrated the project as evidence of purposeful leadership, institutional cooperation, and responsive governance.
For many observers, the commissioning of the Otta Central Police Divisional Headquarters represents not just the delivery of a security facility, but the strengthening of a collective aspiration for a safer, more peaceful, and more prosperous society.
As celebrations continued across the town following the historic event, many residents expressed confidence that the project would leave a lasting legacy for generations to come and further consolidate Ota’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most important emerging urban centers.
Indeed, Thursday’s commissioning once again underscored the growing impact of visionary traditional leadership, effective policing, and collaborative governance in building safer and more progressive communities.
